yes, I'm still alive!
Hey all!
Realise I haven't written here for a while but this last week has been quite full....so lets recap shall we?
Ok so where i believe we left off was basically the festa delle donne evening, which left a little bit to be desired.... we basically went to this bar which was meant to be free entrance for women (but in actual fact we were charged 5 euros to get in, which we were pretty pissed off about cos we had called ahead to make sure it was free....we're naqra poor insomma!).....anyway upon entering we found a crowd full of spiky mohecans reaching the ceiling, girls dressed as babies, gays, transvestites, techno music, the absolute lot! Stuck it out for a little while but we couldn't but ourselves through any more after a while so thankfully we left.....I'm glad the actual day was really good though, and I actually still have my mimosas in my rooms :)) The rest of the week passed as normal really.....on one of the days (though I can't for the life of me remember which one) we all went to federicos house (he's got a view of rome you wouldn't believe, right next to the tevere) for dinner and to watch the juve real madrid match....pretty boring but the girls found ways of keeping ourselves amused insomma and it ended up being quite a funny evening towards the end, we all stayed making really weird poses for pictures and it was really funny.
Friday me and veronica went out to a club in testaccio, just the two of us since it was patrizias anniversary with her boyfriend and they went off to the theatre. It was quite good, the place was called cafe latino and the music was really nice, and made an excellent change from tuesdays nightmare. Anyway, while I was dancing there were these dudes who were trying to talk to me (this was when veronica wasn't looking) and I was basically ignoring them as I would normally do in that situation really.....after a while veronica jumps in "aahhh sha I know one of them ta!"......this is what the genius tells me after I am my most impolite and abrupt self! Thus began the grovelling and the being nice and friendly me again (especially once veronica decided she was going to try and get a lift out of them since it started raining and she didn't feel like catching the night bus).....ver succeeded in getting us a lift though we went for a cornetto before (this being in the weee hours of the morning)....finally got back home and to bed at around 4, and I had to wake up at about 7 to catch the train to florence.
Yes! Florence! I went to florence for the weekend!! I went up to visit Anna for saturday and sunday.....not too long but still it was way better than nothing and it was soo amazing seeing her and seeing florence again! The whole thing was unreal... Anyway I arrived there saturday lunchtime and me and anna had all the hugs and everything (two years not having seen here were just waaaay too much!)...we caught the bus to her place in santa croce....she shares a teeny flat with her brother giovanni (had met him briefly in florence two years ago.....really nice guy!). Anyway amidst loads of catching up, and me practising my italian again (comes more naturally when I speak to anna insomma....shes used to me now!).....we had a plate of pasta and then me and anna went out for an ice cream and to walk around florence....I was everything again....duomo, battistero, piazza della signoria, uffizi, ponte vecchio palazzo pitti etc, and everywhere I used to go which isnt a florence monument as such...festival del gelato (thought about dad and the mora mora) the disney store (Im such a child at heart)...anyway it was just really great. After the afternoon passed we went to the family anna babysits for, and stayed with the kids until one in the morning when the mum came back....the family was really sweet! The mum got us a taxi back to the centre, and we went out for a drink before going back and sleeping in the next morning (terrible us!). At about 11 the next morning we went out for breakfast and resumed walking abround....this time giovanni came with us, and we walked around the centre again and then we walked to the top of piazzale michelangelo (looooong climb but way worth it.....I used to love going there and the view is utterly amazing!). Anyway, then we went back to the flat to eat something, we grabbed my bags and started walking towards the train station.....very vry short trip insomma.Grabbed another ice cream on the way, got to talk to anna a little more since the train was delayed for a bit, and then had a tearful goodbye before I got on the train to come back here. Really amazing weekend insomma (though this weekend will be waaaay better! stefans coming!!! yay!!!!).
Got back Sunday evening to a letter from Filly.....got to catch up with veronica, which was really nice cos I actually missed her quite a bit! Same yesterday insomma, we stayed up talking and catching up....missed both her and patrizia actually, they're both really amazing people and I'm so glad that I met them.
Thats about it really.....work passed as normal today, and at the moment I'm basically just counting the days until stefan comes. Other things to update on re work.....had some financial hassles to sort out with the school but they should basically be sorted now, and as for the 'me working in another school' thing, basically inlingua are going to give me more hours so I can stay with them, it basically makes it easier for me to work with one school than juggle two.....so that should all be sorted now.
Nothing else is coming to mind at the moment but rest assured that if it does i'll be placing it here once I have internet access (ohhh yeah and thanks to my angel of a father I have one less hassle re having a computer for brunel......he found a really good computer deal for me so basically I'll be getting a laptop computer! Joy!!!)
OHHHH man forgot one of the most important updates!!! Brunel received my application (finally) and they sent me an email yesterday asking for the times that they can call me so that they arrange a phone interview!! I'm so unbelievably nervous for it you wouldn't believe! Here's hoping I don't screw it up!
